Privacy by design, in practice

PIPEDA and BC PIPA awareness shape the platform's data model — minimisation, purpose limitation and consent that people can read.

Privacy by design is often quoted and rarely specified. For us it resolves into three engineering decisions.

Minimisation

We collect the smallest data set that supports the clinical purpose, and we keep it for a defined period.

Purpose limitation

Data collected for a monitoring workflow is not repurposed for anything else.

Readable consent

Consent language is written to be understood by the person giving it, in the language they use.

Informational only. Nothing here is medical advice, no efficacy or regulatory endorsement is implied, and NovaPatch Vital is in development.
